    simulation of the process of superplastic forming of a Ti-6Al-4V sheet in the form of a hemisphere using the finite element software ABAQUS
  • چكيده
    A titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is of high importance among the high strength materials of interest in the aerospace industry. Superplastic forming is a manufacturing process whereby the sheet metal is blow formed into a die to produce very light and strong aerospace components. The prediction of the final thickness distribution and the strain-rate necessary to maintain superplasticity is of crucial importance. This journal attempts to explore the various forming processes of metals and the superplastic deformation behaviour of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy during forming into a semi-circular die by a simple theoretical model and by a numerical simulation using standard finite element code ABAQUS.
