  • چکيده
    Abstract The present research investigates an‎d compares the performance of various Software-Defined Networking (SDN) controllers in large-scale simulated environments. Given the unprecedented growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), Intelligent Vehicles (IoV), an‎d the increasing deman‎d for low-latency applications, traditional network architectures face significant scalability an‎d flexibility challenges. SDN, by separating the Control Plane from the Data Plane, offers an innovative solution for network management. In this architecture, SDN controllers act as the "brain" of the network, responsible for decision-making, traffic management, resource allocation, an‎d enforcing security policies. However, the performance of SDN controllers in operational environments an‎d Wide Area Networks (WANs) presents a major challenge due to the massive volume of events an‎d requests. The objective of this seminar is to quantitatively eva‎luate parameters such as response latency, throughput, controller resource consumption, an‎d stability under various traffic scenarios an‎d simulated attacks (e.g., DDoS) using powerful simulation tools like Mininet. This study will help identify the strengths an‎d weaknesses of commonly used SDN controllers such as OpenDaylight (ODL), ONOS, Ryu, POX, an‎d Floodlight when facing the deman‎ds of large-scale networks. The findings of this research will provide practical insights for selec‎ting the most optimal SDN controller in the design an‎d implementation of future network infrastructures, including 5G networks an‎d beyond. Furthermore, by addressing the gap in comprehensive an‎d systematic comparative studies in realistic scenarios, this research contributes to advancing knowledge in the field of SDN.
