Abstract:
In this research, copper ferrite and zinc ferrite magnetic nanoparticles were used as the catalyst in the synthesis of benzodiazepine and bisindolylmethan derivatives through multi-component reactions. Nanocatalysts have several advantages such as maximum surface area per mass and volume units, controllable shape and size, easy separation ability from reaction mixture by an external magnet, selectivity, high efficiency and the possibility of modification that have attracted increasing interest in various branches of chemistry. Among nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds, bisindolylmethans and benzodiazepines have various applications as the biologically active substances and important intermediates in more complex compounds synthesis. Taking advantage of the presented method in this study for the synthesis of two categories of heterocyclic compounds has many advantages including short reaction time, high yield, simple purification, reduction in costs and environmental pollutions.
