Abstract:
In recent decades presence of human in seas and oceans for martial, Industrial and investigational reasons has been increased. Underwater wireless communication are used for relation between divers, unmanned underwater vehicles, submarines. Because of radio waves absorption in water and acoustic waves bandwidth restriction, underwater wireless optical communication systems are too important. Small divergence, high security and bandwidth are advantages of this systems. Each communication system includes of transmitter, communication channel and receiver. Main purpose of this Thesis is Designing and manufacturing new method for digital transmission of every kind of data (video, image, sound, text) underwater. With study the optical properties of water, 532 nm has been chosen as laser wavelength. Transmitter system includes two main parts: software and hardware. In software part, necessary codes for serial port control and transmission of every kind of data in MATLAB program have been written. In hardware part, digital data transmits from computer to TTL laser circuit by USB to serial converter FTDI chip. TTL circuits sets electrical signals to determined voltage levels and controls laser pulses. At the end communication parameters like Signal to Noise Ratio and Bit Error Rate are calculated. The Simulation and experimental results are shown graphically.
