Abstract:
For the underground resource exploration, need to understand the phenomena below the ground surface. At the start of exploration, the surface geology of the area is checked. In case of appropriate conditions, the gravity and magnetic methods will be done. If successful these methods, seismic method are used to detect Suitable structures in oil and gas accumulation, but this method imports irreparable damages to environment and it is costly. Nowadays, with the development of exploration techniques, accuracy and chance for success exploration activities is further, but despite these advances, exploration still remains as a high-risk activity. Exploration and doing ground operations, especially in impassable areas requires the operations are very difficult and costly. Since reduce the cost and expedite exploration activities, particularly in the oil and gas fields shared with neighboring countries is important and as well as hydrocarbon reserves in Iran are enormous, so integrated visibility of regional using exploration tools such as satellites is important. In this study, the gravity method and the GRACE twin satellites have been discussed, as well as, the use of this satellite data in order to identify hydrocarbon resources have been evaluated and data processing techniques have been developed to provide a new way for oil exploration without the expense and environmental damage. In this study, Grace level1B data obtained in two years (2006 and 2007) in the range of hydrocarbon fields have been filtered using MATLAB program and data related to passing through the top of field and data related to before and after that, have been reviewed and theirs changes have been identified and the lasted gravity maps Including GGMplus2013 and WGM2012 derived from ground gravity and satellite gravity (GRACE,etc.) have been examined to identify hydrocarbon resources and the results have been compared with the previous method. The result of this study is to find patterns in Grace satellites data processing that it can detect hydrocarbon resources.
