Today, ever-increasing growth of the human population in our industrial world, has led to large amount of building construction and manufacturing many vehicles. thus, the occupation of buildings will also increase, which has led to reduction of green space and then green spaces gradually disappear from the city, large buildings will replace. Dark facades, street asphalt and large buildings will make urban heat Islands. leading to the earth temperature increasing in a long term duration.
Considering the fact that the main cause of urban heat island and environmental pollution is the result of improper design and destruction of Bio Systems. we can find out how effective is the nature compatible designing and green space saving attempts.
Green walls protect the building facades from absorbing solar beams by trapping solar beams and thus, this is a good solution to reduce the urban heat island phenomena, energy saving for buildings and finally a good way for compensate the reduction of green spaces.
The main purpose of this investigation is to assess the effect of green walls on urban heat island reduction by trapping the solar beams at the first step, and then to study the effect of green walls on cooling energy saving by reduction of temperature alterations in days and nights.in way of assessment the effect of green walls on temperature controlling. we used two kinds of Data Logger, one of them model MIC-98586EX records temperature and humidity and USB Data Logger model MIC-98583 records temperature and humidity as well.
In the first experiment we compare three kinds of walls without plant, A wall with seedbed panels and a wall with panels and plants.in the second experiment we put one of the Data Loggers close to green wall and put another one in front of the wall which has not any plant. these documents was recording 24 hours of the day within 10 days and has been studied. we had a controllable room which had a green wall on the room wall. this experiment was done in shiraz with a subtropical climate. we also used ENVI-MET software for credit rating of our experiment results. we evaluate most of the current green walls in Tehran and shiraz as a sample of Iran's green walls and finally we compared them and draw a table of the results. The results show that green walls can also reduce the building environment temperature.
Designing a community center with greenery approaches will compensate the current green space reduction of destructive effects of urban life and finally lead to permanent development.
Community center is the space which make people get together and it is a good way for Cultural improvement green walls frequently used in community center.
