Abstract:
High thermal and electrical conductivity of copper makes it as one of the most common metals used during the last centuries. In the other hand low chemical and thermal resistance causes requirements of a perfect cover. High thermal and chemical resistance of enamel can prepare this requirements
Enammeling copper is one of the historical arts and by developing industry it used in thermal equipment and heat exchangers as a thermal insulator
In this study physical, Mechanical and electrical properties of enamel (prodused by Ferro Company) were examine. Respectively Tg and Td are 490 ºC and 550ºC and the electrical conductivity of the sample in 335 º C is 9- 10( Ω-1.cm-1) that make it as nonconductor material
Therefore, by applying an electric current to the potential difference of 5, 12, 24, and 30 volts in of 5, 20and 30 minutes in baking temperature enamel measured by impact test was improved100 percent.and the thermal shock resistance (acordig to ASTM C385-58) of the sample under an electrical current tolerance until step13 while the sample without any electrical current failed in step 6
