Material and inventory management is one of the most important component for each company. Inventory management is the same as investments management and if it is not managed properly, the company will be in crisis. On the other hand, pricing is also one of the concerns that historically companies had been involved with them. This issue will be more evident where the items will lose their value over time; and also price has inverse relation with demand. So, the companies must optimize their inventory level and prices in such a way that the least loss is occurred or in other word, the companies profit is maximized.
In recent years, because of increasing importance of pricing of deteriorating items in inventory models, with the aim of determining optimal inventory quantity and price, researchers have found a great attitude towards this issue; but despite remarkable effect of advertising on demand, less researches have been done in this area. In this thesis, an integrated pricing-inventory model for deteriorating items with regards to advertising costs and with two different types of deteriorating functions was presented. Afterward, based on the developed model, an extension of the model with exponential demand function of pricing and advertising cost was provided. The developed models have been solved using geometric programming approach. Meanwhile, in order to make more confidence on obtained results, the model is also solved using Genetic Algorithm. After sensitivity analysis, the results from these two types of deterioration functions are compared. Also, the expansion model has been analyzed.
Finally, sensitive analysis of these models presented and results compared with each other’s.
