Abstract:
High fuel consumption by vehicles like cars, motorcycle etc, with regarding to the diminution of fossil fuel resources and high contamination of environment by these consumers caused authoarites pay attention to other renewable energy sources.one of the ways to decrese the environment pollution is using vehicles which their driving force is provided by electrical gird or batteries, which among them we can refer to EVs, HEVs and FCVs. The efficiency of EVs strongly depends on their battery system. Nowadays, batteries that have been used in these vehicle, are mostly Li-ion type. These battreis face degradation and loss thier efficiency after a while. Changing these batteries cost a lot, hence, conducting researches on the batteries' degradation is profoundly important.
In this thesis, cycle and canlender life of Li-ion batteries by expreimental methods have been examined and then, effective factors on this degradation have been recognized and were discussed. For determinig the destruction extent in electrods, SEM has been used. It was detected by extreme decresing or increasing temperature, a major destruction will be occurred on the battery. At the end, in order to show the usage of experimental data in battery simulation, a Li-ion cell was simulated with the help of the exprimental data in Fluent software with dual-potentail model and NTGK submodel, and then temperture distrbution on its surface with viriuos C rates was examined.
