Eventually, researches came to the result that these aggressive solutions are not the suitable way. So they faced to enabling strategy in last 1980s.
Today, about a third of the world population living in urban poverty. Many of them live in informal settlement and the level of the quality and quantity of their life is too low.So, the context of environmental quality is becoming more significant, which lead to satisfaction of life in neighborhoods. The definition and evaluation of environmental quality in this research is different from similar projects. This variation is done because of emphasis on assets and residents confidence. In fact asset- based approach does not consider just on weak points, scarce and needs it also consist of all type of assets in the community.
In this research, we attempt to diagnose the assets which are existed in the neighborhood, such as physical assets(parks, hospitals, schools, walking path, vacant lands and buildings), social assets(youth, older adults, participation, trust), economical assets(consumer expenditure, banks, for profit business, credit union) and environmental assets, in one of Tehran’s neighborhoods which name is
Eslam abad, to evaluate the environmental quality in this neighborhood and then assess the impact of each assets on residence understandings of environmental quality and their satisfaction of living in this area. According to this we chose Hierarchical Multiple Regression (HMR) and experimental model as a research method. This hierarchical model consists of indexes and sub-indexes which are showing neighborhood’s assets. In fact subindexes in the last level of the model constitute a questioner. After all, our analyses determine that the amount of environmental quality in Eslam abad is standing in a bad level.
