Different levels of agricultural supply chains operate mainly independently of each other.
Lack of coordination between production sector and other levels of chain, regard to strategic
position of the agricultural sector, causing problems at different levels of these chains. being
smallholder, is one of the important reasons for the lack of coordination, so that Agricultural
cooperatives arised as a solution to solve this important probleme but Since their Statutes has
limited only to extent and operations, membership conditions, stocks and financial regulations,
and they are without a scientific perspective that can solves current problems due to the lack
of coordination between different levels of the chain.
Given the importance of the issue and limited literature, the development of cooperatives, is
necessary and in particular in this thesis a case study in chicken farming, cooperative company
of sabzevar chicken farmers was studied.
This cooperative that involves three levels of the chain, namely, production of feed, chicken
farming and processing (slaughtering and packing), and carried out respectively by factory of
the company, chicken farmers (members) and slaughterhouses of the company, facing
problems that returns to the lack of coordination among the company and members at
mentioned levels and high costs of providing feed. these problems include lost sales or sleep
capital, caused by the shortage or excess supply of raw materials for feed, reducing meat sales,
caused by the low extraction of chicken meat at slaughter, and high probability of loss on the
sale of live chickens, because of price fluctuations of live chicken.
Solving these problems respectively by using information sharing (newsboy model) and
production (growing)-processing integration (Inventory model for growing items and
Stochastic Binary Linear Programming) as a means of coordination and also public and private
partnership, was evaluated.
Proved that growing optimal weight in all policy sales (to company or brokers) in most of the
time, fixed and start Growing based on the weight of 2.2 kg is the best policy for members, and
sharing feed demand information and farming time by members, increasing the profit of feed
production factory. Also observed that public and private partnerships in order to domestic
production of corn, has a significant impact in reducing final costs of chicken farming.
