Abstract
Todays, the use of renewable energies has become non-removable part of the power generation industry. Low cost energy and clean production, causes more attention to this side. Much research has been done on solar and wind energy, but the energy of the marine current as an example of clean energy, failed to attract great attention. So in this thesis has been paid to this issue seriously.
In this thesis, the design of axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) generator for marine current has been done. In harvest energy from marine current, reducing the maintenance of generator is important. In rim-driven axial flux generator structure, removing the gearbox, causes to reduce the maintenance.
In this thesis, the process of electromagnetic design of AFPM generator with detailed consideration carried out. Then, the result of electromagnetic design has been validated by Flux software. The results show that, this generator can generate 260 kW in normal condition. In order to relize the important parameter of AFPM generator, the sensitive analysis has been done on many geometrical parameter.
