Abstract:
Modern electrical locomotives are equipped with a number of power electronic equipment and advanced digital control technology. This improves the performance of the locomotive, but also introduces a lot of new dynamical phenomena of interaction with the railway power supply. Power system instability is one of these phenomena, which is very important. To determine the stability limit of the system, Simple models of system considered to reduce the model complexity and the simulation time.
In this study, after modeling of converter, which consists of voltage source inverter, DC link capacitor and rectifier, the whole system in SIMULINK/MATLAB tool simulated and their impact on system stability is analyzed.
