يكي از نگراني هاي حفاظت ميراث معماري، تطبيق ساختمان هاي تاريخي با نيازهاي در حال تغيير امروزه است. همانطور كه ساختمان هاي تاريخي با تكنيك و برحسب شرايط زمان گذشته خلق شده اند، فرايند اين تطبيق نيازمند مداخله در مقادير مختلف است. هرچند اين احساس مي شود كه حفظ مداخلات در كمترين مقدار خود براي جلوگيري از كاهش ارزش ساختمان هاي تاريخي، حياتي است ولي ميزان و درجه ي مداخلات ممكن است بر حسب انتظارات از احياء آن ساختمان، افزايش يابد. بدون توجه به ابعاد اين الحاق، يك الحاق جديد به يك ساختمان تاريخي موجب مشكلاتي مثل برقراري يك رابطه ي درست بين زبان معماري سنتي و امروزي مي شود. راه هاي مختلفي براي اضافه كردن اين الحاقات به انواع ساختمان هاي تاريخي، تاكنون مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. در اين تحقيق، ابتدا توسعه هاي ميان افزا و همچنين الحاقات به ساختمان هاي تاريخي از نظر معيارهاي معماري و هويت ساختمان هاي تاريخي، براي بهترين انتخاب، مورد بحث قرار گرفت و سپس در چارچوب اين پژوهش كه طراحي نوعي مركز محله با كمك مسجد شيخ علي اكبر بود، اين نتيجه گرفته شد كه بهترين روش در كشورهاي اسلامي مانند ايران كه براي مساجد هويت و ارزش معنوي خاصي قائل هستند، الحاق نيازمندي هاي مسجد و طراحي ميان افزاي يك مركز فرهنگي در مجاورت مسجد از طريق زير سطح زمين مناسب ترين روش است و سازگارترين نوع ميان افزا و الحاق به ساختمان هاي مذهبي-تاريخي در كشور اسلامي ايران به شمار مي آيد. شايان ذكر است كه اين روش بر پايه ي تجزيه و تحليل هاي معمارانه و وابسته به ضوابطي است كه در مطالعات قبلي مانند منشورها و دستورالعمل هاي ملي در نظر گرفته شده است. واژه‌هاي كليدي: الحاق به ساختمان هاي تاريخي، توسعه ي ميان افزا، مسجد شيخ علي اكبر شاهرود، توسعه ي پايدار

One of the concerns of architectural conservation is the adaptation of historical buildings to the changing requirements of the present day. As the historical buildings were created with the techniques an​d according to the conditions of a past period, their adaptation processes require interventions at various levels. Although it is appreciated that it is vital to keep interventions at a minimum in order not to reduce the value of the historical building, the degree of intervention may increase due to the expectations from its restoration. New exterior additions are considered as major interventions that are designed to either attach to the historic building o​r be situated within the boundaries of the historic building's lot. Regardless of its scale, a new addition to a historic building comprises the problem of establishing an appropriate relation between traditional an​d contemporary architectural language. Different approaches to the issue of eva​luating new additions to historical buildings have been considered previously. In this research, in order to get the best result, infill developments an​d also extensions an​d additions to historical buildings were discussed in terms of architectural criteria an​d the identity of the historical buildings. In the framework of this research which was designing a center for the district via Sheikh Ali Akbar Mosque, we sought for the best way in Islamic countries like Iran where devotes lots of respects because of spirituality an​d religious value to mosques. Finally it was found out that extending the mosque for solving its needs an​d designing a cultural complex near it which occurs via the underground level would be the most appropriate an​d compatible infill design an​d extension to these kind of historical an​d religious buildings in Islamic Republic of Iran. It also should be mentioned this method is based on architectural analyses dependent on the criteria that have already been considered in previous studies as well as international charters an​d national guidelines.
