Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a highly dynamic industry. Sudden and massive technological, social, regulatory and competitive changes at the industry have become a norm. In this context, strategy making and implementation in terms of business models for mobile network operators is a challenge. Company’s decision-makers in this industry are constantly faced with disruptive changes that challenge their business models. The present research aims to provide a methodology to help decision-makers to understand the impact of environmental changes on business models and making them capable of preventive modification and improvement of the business models and ultimately to discover and prescribe emerging strategies. In this methodology, the first step is to prioritize identified business model components, using the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) by semi-structured interviews and questionnaires presented to managers of three mobile network operators. In the second step, disruptive environmental changes were identified due to two factors: the impact and the probability. In the third step, with presenting questionnaires to practitioners and academic experts, the effects of disruptive changes on business model components was measured. Then by performed analysis, the most influential disruptive changes and the most vulnerable components of the business model were identified. In the end, by comparing the results achieved in the third step, with two previous steps, emerging strategies for coping with the changes in the form of business model innovation in mobile network operators in Iran was prescribed.
