Abstract:
The advantages of rail transportation than the other transportation modes are a reason of day by day widespread developing of this industry. A cost of maintenance on sub-structure part is significant. So that it has specified more than 70 percent of all operation costs. Hence, any kind of decision making to optimize the available trend can be promoted the quality and reduced the cost of maintenance.
The navy of maintenance equipment is one of the physical assets in railway industry which it should be kept in optimizing manner. Moreover, selecting a quality factors evaluation and choosing a proper maintenance strategy can be helpful for maintenance management. A correct and complete recognition of tamping equipment such as machines ability, the power of equipment, the extent of work, Operational constrains from one side and track geometry, methods, Inspection system, Evaluating Factors and on time supporting requirements on the other side needs to be connected and strengthened in a logical and reliable relation.
In addition, doing unnecessary operation according to CM and RM strategies will be result in the growth of track failure, reducing the effectiveness and wasting the investment. So, without determining and applying strict inspection system and choosing a best maintenance strategy It can’t be possible to Know what action should be done, when, where and which one of equipment must be operate on track.
According to recent investigations especially about correlation between quality indexes &geometric parameters affected by tamping machine,have been shown that COSD,TGI,Tamping indexes are the best choice for tamping operation scheduling and have maximum correlation with alignment & unevenness together. Also based on weight factor, kind of operation, under the supervision of the elected parameters in EN13848-5 (Alert limit, Intervention limit, Immediate action limit or Safety limit) with Delay maintenance can be efficient in achieving above goals.
