Abstract
Radiation Oncology is one of the effective ways to treat cancer, but often cause damaging healthy tissue. Brachytherapy is a radiation of some kind where the source of radiation is placed inside the body. In this method, the source of radiation is solid and the seeds or capsules or bar that is in the area of cancer in the body or placed around it. One of the advantages of this method is that it can be more doses in the narrower and shorter in the body tissues, so the less damage to healthy tissue and attack more and more effective for cancer. Isotopes and to arrange half-life 14.3 and 60.1 days rated, and both players are capable of. So it is expected that microsphere containing P and I who have bombarded with chemical resistance are good and neutron are enabled for use on the field of brachytherapy are appropriate.
In this study, glass SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-P2O5 and SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-P2O5-NaI and SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-P2O5-Na2O in horizontal furnaces with an inert atmosphere, melting and were prepared with different combinations.
