Abstract:
Projects are one of the main factors of growth and development in underdeveloped and developing countries and also a vital tool for ensuring the profitability and survival of organizations in the private sector. Due to changing production methods and changing the role and importance of each resource in social and political issues, more complex conditions , and increasing competition and struggle for survival, most organizations are confronting with project management with time and resource constraints .Therefore, project scheduling and management is considered to be crucial for public and private organizations.
The mentioned points indicates the importance of resource constrained project scheduling problem which is one of the most complex and realistic scheduling problems, and many public and private organizations are involved with it. In this research, multimode resource constrained project scheduling problem considering renewable resource with the objective of minimizing project makespan have been studied as well as minimizing the cost of the project when several projects are being executed simultaneously. NSGA- II algorithm is applied in order to optimize time and cost. In this algorithm, the initial population with twice members is considered. In order to speed up convergence and elitism, the appropriate non-post points are selected and also the distances between each point are considered as a criterion. Then, by solving several problem instances using NSGA- II algorithms and comparing them with the obtained solutions using the GAMS software, the efficiency of NSGA- II algorithm in solving medium-sized problems is proved.
