In this study, mesoporous ZnFe2O4 was fabricated through a facile and green hydrothermal approach in presence of 3 surfactants:carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), a nontoxic and water-soluble polymer, SDS as an anionic surfactant and CTAB as a cationic sufactant. The necessary characterizations such as SEM, XRD, VSM, FT-IR and BET have been carried out to investigate the obtained material. The results indicated the mesoporous ZnFe2O4in presence of CMC with high purity phase possess obvious mesoporous structure, the mean inner diameter, specific surface area and pore volume are about 8.1 nm, 104.16 m2/g and 0.21 cm3/g, respectively. The adsorption properties of methylene blue (MB) onto mesoporous ZnFe2O4 were studied. It was found that the maximum adsorption capacity of mesoporous ZnFe2O4 for MB was 250 mg/g at 15 minutes. The adsoption propertis of mesoporous ZnFe2O4in presence of SDS ws investigated, too. The photocatalytic activity of mesoporous ZnFe2O4in presence of CTAB and its composite wiyh porphyrin was studied for removal of methylene blue from aqua media.
