Power systems are changing in response to diverse demands, including energy maintenance, more reliability, power loss reduction, efficient operation and customer services. A solution that has been offered to cover these required demands is using Distributed Energy Resource. Moreover, micro grid concept has been developed in order to solve distributed generation resources connection problems. Considering the amount of load in every period, short term scheduling of these distributed energy resources in micro grid is very important. In this study, a model for micro grid scheduling is provided. This model would minimize operation cost subject to operation constraints. load forecast error, Wind turbine/ Photovoltaic power generation and market price are the decision variables in micro grid that have high level of uncertainty. In this work, uncertainty of these variables has been contributed to a stochastic environment model based on probability distribution function using roulette wheel mechanism. On top of the model, different generation types of all units in the micro grid and their effect on micro grid scheduling and final costs are being provided. The micro grid model is simulated and results are showing that storage system is saving the energy in low cost hours and providing the power to the consumer on the peak hours, hence operation costs reduce significantly. Using different constraints for other units; level of efficient initiate storage system, optimal power generation level of other working units and micro grid operating method is stated in this study.
