Asphalt recycling is one of the important choices in maintaining and making roads. Any road that needs recycling or new veneer is a choice to recycle.
Performing new and single-layer asphalt is general method in improving damaged asphalt in all total roads' path in Iran that road's asphalt is scraped and then scraped surface is filled with new asphalt. Unfortunately, this method is costly and time-consuming and performing them causes to distribute traffic, increasing driving accidence and damaging the great amounts of natural and renewable resources such as energy, bitumen and stone materials. Hot and in-place recycling is a premier method to recycle damaged and rusty asphalt veneer. Bitumen and asphalt composite characteristics can be improved by arming with other materials. One of these effective additives can be yarn.
In this research, the positive Aramid and Polyolefin Compound Fiber on the performance of hot and in-place recycling for asphalt composite. First, existing old bitumen in recycled asphalt composite is obtained and also seeding and its stone materials characteristics were determined. Then, the amount of required rejuvenating percentage were determined using softening point tests, viscosity and absorb degree and optimum parentage of bitumen with Marshal tests and in then making samples were performed for moisture sensitivity, modulus on resilient crawling, wheel track using rotary compressor (Gyratory).
Considering the results and its analyses is showing that using Aramid composite yarn and Polyolefin causes to improve performance characteristics of recycling asphalt composite on hot and in-place recycling operations. Although using this yarn cause to increase first costs of recycling, and also can justify this increased cost as increasing the operational life and improving performance characteristics.
