Abstract
Insilco methods are suitable tools for studying heart arrhythmias. This models with high computation load and complexity are called complex electrophysiological models. Hence simplified form of complex models, minimal models, can reduce the computational load. The simplicity and low computation load of minimal models, justifying use of this models in propagation studies.
One of the challenges ahead in these studies is a lack of certain and algorithmic method for minimizing complex electrophysiological models. In this paper, for minimizing complex electrophysiological models a step by step approach using fast-slow method and voltage-clamp test has been presented. A minimal model for ventricular cell is the result of proposed algorithm. in this paper, four formalisms are considered for proposed minimal model. This algorithm is validated by morphological and excitability features analysis.
Although proposed algorithm is used for minimizing ventricular cell models, it can be used for other electrophysiological cell models.
