Despite the large development of surgery and surgical instruments and the increasing number of surgical equipment over the past century, They cause many problems and pains for surgeon because surgical tools do not have ergonomic design. Especially, Surgical scissors due to their extensive usage in general surgery, cause many problems for surgeons such as hand fatigue, orthopedic problems, musculoskeletal problems, and these tools do not fit good with fingers. Despite the many ergonomic problems with Mayo scissors, they have not changed with any positive ergonomic improvement and these problems remain for users. In this research, we have tried to design new ergonomic mayo scissor with respect of the surgical instrument standard and considering the places of rest for small, middle and hint fingers, considering the size of different hands, as well as the matching of fingers with the Scissor ring. In this regard, many designs were initially designed, and then prototype of three better models were made and they evaluated with questionnaires form and final model was designed and its prototype was made. The final scissors are examined by Survey and its performance has been compared with the common Mayo Scissor. In this comparison, all of data that are collected from surgical scissors evaluated by SPSS program. User satisfy more that 60% for all aspects of final scissor design. They say that this scissor is very useful for users and can reduce the pain of users.
