Combustion synthesis of copper ferrite nano crystals was carried out using D-mannitol and xylitol as main fuels and glucose and sucrose as additional fuel. Four different types of templates of sterilized gauze, coconut coir, cotton fiber and corn leaves were used for the first time. The experiments were designed Taguchi L16 design. The main parameters of the study were the pH, type of template, added fuel percentage, fuel to oxidizer ratio, main fuel type, and added fuel type, respectively. The optimal sample was synthesized according to the prediction of Taguchi array by xylitol as the main fuel and glucose as the added fuel and sterilized gauze as template at pH = 6 with a fuel to oxidizer ratio of 0.75 St. Average crystallite size of the sample prepared under the optimum condition was 20.8 nm and the prediction error was about 6.25%. Results were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and (FESEM), VSM, TEM, and (BET). The VSM analysis showed that the optimal sample has a magnetism saturation of 21.7 emu / g. BET analysis indicated that the specific surface area of the optimal sample was 2/2 m2/g. Finally, in order to investigate the application of the resulted sample, the photocatalytic removal process of Congored as an organic pollutant was carried out and the removal efficiency was 59.89%.
