In this thesis we’ve modeled and controled a railway network. In order to modeling, max-plus linear discrete event system description is used which has maximization and addition as basic operation. Proposed model, presents a new model of two loop line which has connection in a station. To achieve an applicable approach in this model, two phenomenon including transferring knock on delay from one train to another and passenger delay rate is considered. A nonlinear model predictive controller is designed to compensate delays and determine the connection between trains. In this design Cost function is also determined base
on train departure time delays and passenger satisfaction. Since every railway network encounter with limitation and constraints, a constraint on control signal has been predicted. At last simulation results to evaluate modeling and controller of system is presented.
