Abstract:
The existence of architecture has a mixed nature and consists of visible and invisible elements. Envelope and exterior shape of the building is the first element to be seen from a building, this architectural element expresses the performance of the building directly and with great effect. The covering is a representation of the underlying layers of material and a statement of the forces placed in the process of construction, assembly and development, and through this covering, the materials transmit their effect.
One of the important elements in design and architecture is the patterns that have a special role in Iranian architecture as well, and they are seen in various forms in the building. Among all these patterns and motifs, geometric designs have the greatest attraction and variety. The geometric order in these designs and the ability to use this system in today's parametric architecture has changed our understanding of its design and development. Perhaps this is why today is the best time to return to the use of geometric patterns and motifs.
This research attempts to revisit Iranian geometry in the form of an idea to design a building's covering, so that in addition to playing a role, visually and beautifully, is also responsive to environmental factors. In this research, the application of the pattern will be more than a design, and the design process with the goal of revising Iranian geometry, matters in the context of today's technology.
