In this Thesis, techniques of the improving efficiency and linearity for high PAPR signal were introduced, then envelope tracking technique was chosen for improving efficiency in the power amplifier design. In envelope tracking technique when the input power level decreases, drain voltage proportionally decreasese and then efficiency increase but linearity of amplifier decreases gradually. In order to maintain linearity, a method was proposed. Here, by using dynamic gate technique linearity is improved.
In this thesis, wideband class F-1 power amplifier was designed. Broadband input and output matching network was designed by SRFT technique.
Power amplifier was desined with NXP LDMOS ATF27S010N transistor. Performance evaluation of designed power amplifier, under continuous wave test shows 70-80% efficiency, output power of 38-41dBm and 20-22.5 dB gain, over 38% (850-1250MHz) fractional bandwith. The presented technique improve ACPR about 2-3 dB compare to envelope tracking power amplifier with insignificant efficiency loss.
