Abstract:
By increasing competition in global markets, the use of modern information technology tools in better managing of supply chains is growing and development. In the meantime, the use of recent technology of cloud computing can solve many problems and challenges ahead supply chains management. The use of cloud computing will have a lot of benefits, including integration of information, establishing cooperation and coordination among different members of the supply chain and accelerating and facilitating information flows, financial and commodity, along with other potential benefits of cloud computing including access in any place and in any time, Simplification, optimization and service-oriented. Especially the organizations pay only for subscription and receiving service and purchase cost of software and hardware, as well as the cost of maintaining and updating them are saved.
The purpose of this research is to design a platform based on cloud computing for management of medicine supply chain. This platform receives, stores and processes information from different members of the supply chain as a central information network and provides the services they need. Companies at different places, including suppliers, distributors, and customers, can join in this platform and use its as a service. The services provided generally include the part of the services of the resources, commodity management, inventory management, warehouse management, transportation, marketing and sales, ordering and financial flows, information and goods.
In order to implement this platform, a conceptual model is first designed and programming languages, system implementation technologies and databases are used, and then platform structure and its application in supply chain management are described.
Then, the information of a number of suppliers, distributors and customers has been collected and analyzed as an example in the designed platform. The platform's achievements include integration of information, minimizing cost and time, utilizing the optimum level of security in the design of the platform, expediting processes, receiving various services in different sectors, giving customers more power to choose and reducing the power of upper hand companies and creating a circumstance through which organizations can compete with minimum cost easily. Finally, the results and suggestions for further research in future are proposed.
