Abstract
Human resources are the key to success and achievement of each organization's goals. In the organization environment, people are exposed to various psychological pressures. Stress is associated with physical and mental illness and contributes to the development and spread of them. Therefore, the study of stress is important both in the health of the staff and in mental health, as well as in evaluating the performance of individuals in the organizations. In this regard, this study examines the effect of occupational stress on individual employees' performance. This research is a cross-sectional and descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population is the employees of “Tehran Province Gas Company”.That A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect data and descriptive and inferential statistical analyzes were used to obtain results. The criteria for assessing occupational stress were employees, including: ambiguity of responsibilities; characteristics of the job position; stakeholder satisfaction; communication with colleagues; organizational climate; HRM method; compensation for services and infrastructure. The ranking also showed that the characteristics of the job situation had the most impact and the infrastructure had the least impact on the individual performance of the employees. In order to improve the performance of employees in Tehran province Gas company, managers should pay more attention to the characteristics of the job. In other words, the "work song", "role incompatibility", "repeat work", "preservation of life and health", "work shift", "occupational expertise", "job ambiguity", "ambiguity of responsibility", "ambiguity of expectations", "Collaborative Weight", "Workload", "Inconsistency in the job".
