Nowadays, phase-changing heat transfer has drawn researcher’s attention due to the energy crisis and heat transfer efficiency problems. Condensation is one of the crucial heat transfer mechanisms in almost every industry such as refrigeration, nuclear power, thermal power plants and etc. Numerous applications of this phenomena in industries have convinced researchers to improve its efficiency. The condensation process occurs in two forms: Filmwise or Dropwise. In filmwise condensation, due to a liquid film formation on the surface and also its low thermal conduction, heat transfer efficiency decreases while dropwise condensation occurs in the form of separated drops on the surface. Recent researches have shown that the heat transfer coefficient in dropwise condensation is higher than filmwise condensation about an order of magnitude. Therefore, because of higher heat transfer ratio in dropwise condensation using this phenomenon results in better performance in systems. Another prominent factor is the correct estimation of heat transfer coefficient in heat exchangers which should be determined experimentally due to the existence of other mechanisms of condensation.
