The wear phenomenon in industrial parts is considered a serious problem In such a way, the design of such parts always has high costs It is anticipated to replace worn parts. Due to the importance of wear and a large number of effective parameters in this study, this paper has tried to examine some of these parameters in both laboratory and simulation. For different tests, twin disc instrument was used in the laboratory of Mechanics of Material of the railway school. first, the amount of slip and friction coefficients were obtained at different speeds between the two discs. Then, other tests were performed to investigate the effect of solid lubricant on friction coefficient and wear measurements.
Also, in this study, during the test the disc temperature was recorded using a thermal camera. Finally, for examination some problems of twin disc, another test was performed to measure its horizontal acceleration with a data logger and one-way accelerometer. In the simulation section, using the assumptions to simplify the wear test, this device was analyzed in UM software. Modeling of this device was made using two UM and CATIA software. In the simulation, parameters such as the effect of discs' material and friction coefficient, as well as the effect of the amount of torque on the wear and the slip ratio were investigated. At the end, the disadvantages and problems of the device were examined and analyzed, and suggestions were made to improve its performance.
