Abstract:
In recent years, nano coatings have been attracted many interests due to many applications. There are many methods to prepare nano coatings. The CBD method is a simple, facile and cost effective method. In the present work, the stainless steel meshes were applied as substrates. To achieve better thin film deposition, seed layers of NiO and ZnO were deposited on the substrate before CBD step. The micro-nano structured nickel oxalate were obtained. The FTIR, XRD, FESEM, roughness test and EDS were used to characterize the samples In order to evaluate the main parameters of the synthesis, 6 important experimental factors were investigated under Taguchi L16 designed experiments. The studied parameters were alkaline/metallic salt molar ratio, PVP solution concentration, seed layer type, seed layer solution concentration, alkaline agent type, precursor type. According to the results, alkaline/metallic salt molar ratio which ranked first among the investigated factors play a key role in the synthesis preparation however seed layer concentration had the lowest level of effect. The optimum sample with was super hydrophilic and under water oil contact angel was 156.15±7.5°, Contact angel hysteresis was about 4.3°. The nano sheets with 69.5nm thickness were obtained. The chemical and mechanical stability of the optimum sample indicated that it had a good mechanical stability after 12 cycles of abrasion test and a suitable chemical resistance after it was maintained 10 days in acidic solution (pH=4, 6) .The prepared optimum sample was used as adsorbent to remove the Congo red Furthermore, the photo-catalytic behavior of the sample was studied.
