Abstract:
Iran’s southern coasts, with about 2000 Km length, has an important role due to its geographic and
geopolitics circumstance. It is essential to give special attention to this region due to various
residential, military, commercial, entertainment centers and islands, oil and gas platforms and existing
ships in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea, Navy establishment and considering its requirements, negative
effects of country’s unbalanced development on that region, absence of sufficient health and medical
infrastructures in compare with global standards in non-critical situations and at the same time
considering the probability of natural and unnatural disasters happening and essence of offering
medical service to these region.
There are various ways and approaches to support accidents and crisis approach that these methods
and equipment have been chosen in consideration to geographic context and choosing equipment type
appropriate with supportable context can reduce the casualties. At the same time emergency supplying
system in Iran is based on specified province, center to edge of country’s borders supplying and on
the other hand using field/highland disaster supporting equipment that due to various geographical
circumstances and contexts in the country and considering this important issue, do not function in this
region due to the following facts:
- Relocating and installing in place’s high financial and time cost
- Impossibility of using current supplying system (Container ground mobile system) for
transferring patients in commute time
- Neglecting and not using a water bed of southern regions of the country in emergency aiding.
Accordingly, in this research a primary floating supplying pack has been presented. The primary
goal of building this system is to present an appropriate answer due to geographic context and
regional facilities. Accordingly, the type of the ship from the simplest ship i.e. Barge and in building
medical spaces, transformed container units have been used that these units is the best choice due to
the high durability in sea climate condition and also heavy loading capacity and long enduring.
Operational planning of this system has been considered as level one general hospital that can give
service in order to improve the treatment level in specified regions in a normal situation and reduce
the losses in the crisis, also this system does the operations in supplying the powers (electricity, water,
medical gases and…) acts self-sufficiently.
The method used in this research is descriptive analytic and the data gathering tools is by analyzing
case studies. Hence in the first level, all the stages of the existing case studies in the world have been
gathered, discussed and analyzed and finally been searching for the appropriate answer due to the
needs of the studied context.
It is noteworthy that the main title of this research is “Designing medical ship with the approach of
improving treatment level of deprived regions of Persian Gulf” but the title on the cover has been
registered with this subject earlier and so we had to use the on cover title
