چكيده: شهر همواره در حال توسعه بوده و هست، چه بسا كه وجود زندگي در شهر نيازمند حركت است. در پي اين حركت پويا همواره بخشهاي جديدي به شهر افزوده ميشود و بخشهاي قديميتر دستخوش تغييراتي ميشوند. اين تغييرات در اكثر مواقع با كم لطفي و ناديده گرفتن شهر مواجه ميشوند. بافتهاي تاريخي)از نگاه متخصصين( جزئي از آثار باستاني ارزشمند، كه در ارتباط با زندگي اجتماعي مردم است قلمداد ميشوند؛ كه به دليل، آشكار و ملموس نشدن ارزشها براي عموم، بعضاً به ضدارزش تبديل شدهاند؛ چرا كه تالشي از سوي متوليان امر براي شناساندن و معرفي ارزشهاي مندرج در بافتهاي تاريخي صورت نگرفته و يا فعاليتهاي انجام شده، بدون برنامه و نتيجه بوده است. بنابراين انگيزه و داليل حفاظت به زعم بيشتر مردم بيهوده و بيثمر مينمايد. اغلب بافتهاي تاريخي، به خصوص در كشورهاي در حال توسعه، عالوه بر فرسودگي كالبدي با مشكل فرسودگي فعاليتي و اجتماعي نيز روبرو هستند. مهاجرت ساكنين اصلي بافت و جايگزيني ساكنين موقت يكي از مشكالت عمده بافت تاريخي محسوب ميشود. براي حفظ ساكنان ميبايست ديدگاههاي آنان و عواملي كه باعث انگيزه آنها در بافت ميشود، را شناخت و تامين و تقويت نمود. حفاظت و توسعه زندگي شهري در بافت تاريخي اسحاق بيگ شيراز بيانگر حفاظت پويا ميان رويكردهاي توسعه و حفاظت و توجه به بخشهاي موجود در راستاي حفظ تداوم شهري است. از مهمترين ظرفيتهاي بافت تاريخي وجود آثار ارزشمند تاريخي- مذهبي است كه روزانه پذيراي بسياري از بازديدكنندگان از تمام نقط جهان قرار ميگيرد. از مهمترين ظرفيتهاي كالبدي اين بافت، وجود بناهاي قديمي سرشار از الگوهاي بومي معماري و همچنين بناهاي تاريخي- مذهبي ارزشمندي است كه با كاربريهاي مسكوني و گردشگري- زيارتي،در پيوستگي گذرهاي تاريخي آرايش يافتهاند. ارزشهاي بافت تاريخي از منظر ساختار )مفهوم( و ساختمان )كالبد( و از جنبههاي معماري و اجتماع و قوانين و ضوابط بررسي شد. سپس روشهاي اجرائي باززندهسازي و حفاظت ميراث شهري و معماري بافت تاريخي اسحاق بيگ تشريح گرديد. واژگان كليدي: بافت تاريخي اسحاق بيگ شيراز، حفاظت
