Abstract:
The food situation in Iran has caused not having a decent place in the massive international trade food market however, the greatest comparative advantage of the country to enter into international trade is related to the food industry. The aim of this study is to investigate barriers to food exports to neighbor countries. The research method is descriptive survey and as the goal has been practical. The tools of data collection for the field method was using a questionnaire survey among senior managers and executives and Deputy Commerce in the outer part. In the model used, internal factors (product properties, firm properties) and external factors (industry properties, market properties, the macro environment factors) were examined separately as barriers to exports.
The results indicate that the macro environment factors (exchange rate, inflation, government policies and lack of membership in the World Trade Organization) is considered as the most important barrier to export food to neighbor countries. and the next in ranking is firm properties (financial strength, market research). That due to the immense weight of standards compared to the rest of the factors techniques like stabilizing economic indicators and membership in the World Trade Organization as well as scientific perspective to the discussion of international marketing and by providing appropriate financial flows to enter the field of export, is useful to reduce export barriers.
