Track circuit is one of the safest and most widely used methods which determines the clearance or occupancy of a track section in the railways that its prototype was built with simple technology, and today it utilizes the science of the day and with the advancement of the system to diagnose and control of train position. Correct and fault-free operation of track circuit is critical and in the case of malfunction, there may be a delay in train movement caused by incorrect line occupancy or incident occurrence between following trains if the line is incorrectly detected). Therefore, design process of track circuit, as well as setting its parameters, also monitoring and controlling of these parameters is important, since in many cases, after adjusting the track circuit, its parameters are exposed to changes for various reasons effecting its proper functioning. Current solutions offered by track circuit manufacturers usually don’t take into account the variation of the track conditions due to electrical disturbances, atmosphere conditions and etc. so in many cases, the track circuit parameters are still being set up manually and over several kilometers long by line maintenance agents in short time intervals. This paper attempted to introduce a auto-tuning method for monitoring the state of the track circuit and then set up the parameters considering some variation relating to track condition, avoiding additional costs and wasting time.
