Transportation and communications are the infrastructure sectors in the economy of each country. Today, driving accidents have become an important issue in developing countries. Usually, accidents occur at specific points known as black spots or accident points. Unsafe access points are a bunch of these points. As the number of accesses increase, the accident potential increases and the performance and capacity of the roads are reduced. This is why recognition of the various types of accesses and features of each one are essential for their safe design. In this research, the relationship between the density of access points and the rate of accidents in the streets of Qazvin city has been investigated. For this purpose, using ArcGIS software, for dynamic segmentation of the studied streets to determine the rate of accidents has been addressed. Then, using the VISSIM PTV simulation software, the weight of the access points has been calculated by analyzing the changes in traffic speed. Finally, the correlation between access density and crash rate has been investigated. In fact, the objective of this research is to develop strategies to reduce accidents occurring at access points in urban roads.
