Approaches to the restoration of historical contexts are more focused on tangible and physical values in cities. Architectural designs and organizing the historical textures, neighborhood centers, passages, or physical collections have attempted to provide more prosperity for these neighborhoods by the physical interventions. However, historical spaces with tangible and intangible values have been formed throughout the life and continuity of historical cities, taking into account the physical, cultural, social, economic structures. In the meantime, the centers of historical neighborhoods are the main elements of historical textures that, as nodes in historical contexts, have played a special role in creating interactions and shaping neighborhoods. In most historic cities, neighborhoods have not only played a role as neighborhood milestones, but also as a space for social interaction that is now being destroyed by direct and indirect changes to their identities and uses. The Meydan neighborhood consists of Abbas Ali Square and historical crossings and historical ancestral complexes that have undergone extensive changes as part of Gorgan's historical fabric over many years, most notably the 30-40s streets that disrupt Gorgan's historical fabric.
On the other hand, the changes caused by the presence of the car, coupled with a disregard for the preservation and preservation of the historical context and the physical complexes, have weakened the collective spaces, interactions between neighborhoods. Focusing on this issue, the present research has attempted to move forward by organizing the Abbas Ali Square, focusing on the restoration of physical assemblages for the internal growth and development of the tissue, especially the Abbas Ali Square. Investigating urban spaces along with studying the physical structures and texture of the tissue, in this study has led to the extraction of physical, functional, social and cultural advantages and disadvantages in this context. And as a result, strategies have been put forth to promote and rebuild Abbas Ali's neighborhood.
These include: 1) Introducing site-specific landmark buildings at the beginning of the neighborhoods using the help panel, etc. 2) Creating cavern index entrances and gates, pedestrianizing the main peripheral streets into the neighborhood to increase residential tissue permeability. 3- Organizing the walls and proper flooring. 4. Preventing cars from coming into neighborhood centers by blocking traffic and flooring. 5. Urban furniture (chairs, telephone kiosk, etc.). 6- Providing a pattern that fits the historical identity of the texture of the floor and wall. 7. Using patterns that fits in with the historical identity of the doors and windows, and roof covering with pottery.
