Considering that the civil activities are increasing and we have many problem on weak or soft soil, stabilizing the weak soil is more important present.The stabilization method is very popular with injection of stabilizing agents such as Portland cement and lime. With all the benefits Portland cement has for us, the high levels of pollution and emissions of greenhouse gases and high energy consumption are always a global concern.Concerns for full cement processing in 28 days, especially in warm and dry environments, due to the relatively large area of warm and dry areas in Iran, have led to the use of alternative materials. Geopolymers have been considered as a new generation of cement materials in these years. Given the fact that the production of geopolymers has less energy and pollution, and also new properties such as hardening faster than portland cement, it can be used in hot and dry environments. The use of these materials in recent years has been very much taken into consideration. Considering that the range of pozzolans is very large; Iran also has vast resources of natural pozzolans such as pumice and zeolite. In this research, geopolymer is used to produce natural zeolite to stabilize poor graded sandy soils.
In this study,To achieve the optimum level of zeolite and alkali activator (sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate), zeolite was first added to the weight of dry soil weight from 0% to 10% and washed with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for 1, 7, 28 and 90 days One-dimensional UCS test is carried out and according to the test procedure and the results obtained, a solution of sodium silicate (Na2SO4) is combined to improve the mechanical properties of sodium hydroxide solution with different ratios (sodium hydroxide: sodium silicate) and perform the necessary tests.
