Currently, hospitals with almost identical organs and spaces are located in different parts of the country. Can a smaller and less expensive hospital be designed by reducing the infrastructure or removing some of the organs in the hospital?
The purpose of this research is to identify ways to reduce the cost of building and maintain a hospital, and to select effective strategies for designing smaller hospitals. In this paper, three methods of research were used. First, through descriptive method, discovered successful ways to reduce costs in hospital, by a systematic search in scientific sources and reviewing 238 titles of articles. Subsequently, through qualitative and phenomenological research and According to open interviews with a target community, were discovered solutions to staff with a history of at least 10 years of work in the hospital .
After identifying ways to reduce costs, effective Strategies for Hospital Design were investigated by the Delphi method through meetings with hospital design specialists. By reducing the number of beds, the outsourcing of some services, the removal of some parts of the hospital and the separate use of male employees or only women in some areas, the construction of smaller hospitals is possible.
In the end, the results of the research were used in Eyvanekey 100-bed hospital designing.
