Alteration of Greenland into residential areas is one of the effects of growing cities; This has caused many environmental and dietary problems. As Greenland convert to urban areas, fields shrink, so food security decrease. lack of management about wastes results in increasing air and water pollution; they are other consequences. Tehran is encountered with this problem; like other metropolitan cities. Urban agriculture can solve all those problems, because urban agriculture projects can affect different aspects of city. Pervious researches sHowed improvement in biodiversity, raising employment, increase food security, better waste management, communication growth, decrease air pollution so on, are some results of implementing urban agriculture in cities. But there are many barriers that district urban agriculture. Based on review, Barriers like problem of owners of land, privacy issues, lack of knowledge about building and crop requirements and suitable condition for security was discovered in articles. Many of these barriers is visible in metropolitans like Tehran. Some researches sought for solving problem, but still no any studies worked about building details in urban agriculture. So this study wants to review studies about urban agriculture to achieve codes about implementing urban agriculture in metropolitan cities. This article aims to achieve goal by reviewing articles with standard systematic procedure. Records are extracted from Web of science, IEEE, JSTOR, Science direct and Magiran. In first step, 1259 records identified by searching “urban agriculture” as main keyword. By applying “design urban agriculture” and “planning urban agriculture” as keywords, 1154 records excluded and 140 articles remained. Only 30 articles among those met our article criteria. For assessing the strength of the body of evidence, CASP checklist was used. All data categorized in four fields; legal, technical, agricultural and security. First of all, legal field was about legislation related to urban agriculture and different aspects of partnership. In technical category was assessed related rules to building, urban lands and their effects on body of city. Agricultural framework concerned with plant’s needs such as light, wind pace, nutrition and requirements of soil. Security category contained codes about improving security of pathway to urban agriculture zone, roof security requirements and control on allotment area to prevent from vandalism so on. results of this study shows that urban agriculture is achievable in Tehran. Furthermore, it is functional for solving problems. Proposing urban agriculture in designing green zones and landscapes can have different results on city; like improving food security, increasing communicational contacts, better usage of natural resources and empowering biodiversity. So it is totally recommended that designers put urban agriculture as a priority. This thesis aims to design a residential complex based on information from research. Site is located in region 17 that suffers many urban difficulties. Also it is an abounded factory. Redesigning this place is based on industrial sheds that exist in site. Cultivation program was another part of designing that based on fruitfulness or being useful of plants that was selected.
