Every year, natural disasters have caused damage to people and their assets in various societies. This event which causes irreparable destructions happens due to the vulnerability of the community and its assets. A significant proportion of the world's population, especially in developing countries, are at the risk of natural disasters.
Among the researches in this field, the lack of a coherent systemic perspective that investigates both hazards and vulnerability is noticeable, so the purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the risk of urban areas in the event of an earthquake that incorporates all aspects of earthquake risk include the potential of the seismic activities, the probability of possible earthquake occurrence, the state of sensitivity, and the capacity to cope. In this research, in order to determine the weights for each element of the assessment structure based on its importance to the experts and using the integrated method DEMATEL and FANP techniques and the corresponding measures are calculated using several sources (like GIS layers, government and official reports, research papers, expert opinions, etc.). It should be noted that in this research, 13 criteria of four different groups were used to assess the risk of earthquake occurrence in urban areas, including a total of 37 sub criteria and 84 indicators. The remarkable achievement of this research is the development of a web-based system with the proposed model as a decision-making support system that can help managers during tough decisions.
