In this report, four metal-organic frameworks, [Ca(H2btec).H2O]n, [Ca(H2btec).H2O]n@graphite, {[Ba2(H2btec).H2O].0.5H2O}n and {[Ba2(H2btec).H2O].0.5H2O}n@graphite (H2btec= benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracaboxylic acid), based on calcium and barium have been prepared in four various ways. Characterization results were obtained from Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction analysis, Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy and BET analysis. Then, lead adsorption performance of [Ca(H2btec).H2O]n was investigated.
The maximum adsorption capacity of the adsorbent toward Pb(II) was measured equal to 246.786 mg g-1 whithin 15 min. In addition, the adsorption process corresponded to the Freundlich isotherms, and R2 was calculated as 0.999, as well as it followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. According to the previous studies, this metal-organic framework was not used in lead adsorption application so far, thus it was proposed in this project for the first time
