Al2024 aluminum alloy is used in military and aerospace industries due to its appropriate functional properties. In this study Al2324 aluminum alloy, a new alloy in 2xxx series and form Al2024 alloy family, was produced through direct chill casting is available. In this study, the effect of semi-solid process of Al2324 alloy on the microstructure and mechanical properties is investigated. Plastic deformation and recrystallization were implanted on the samples to fulfil the desired microstructure. To achieve this, specimens were cold worked to 10, 15, and 20% plastic deformation, followed by reheating process at 619℃ for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 minutes. After microstructural evaluation, optimum reheating time for each deformation was identified. By comparing microstructure characteristics and mechanical properties of all samples, those which were produced by semi-solid process showed better tensile strength, yield strength and relative elongation than as-cast samples. Ultimate tensile strength of 290 MPa, yield strength of 200 MPa, and elongation of 15.8 % was achieved by heat treatment of rolling samples.
