New ways to improve the bitumen properties and behavior have been interesting topic for researchers at recent years. One of these methods, are modification of styrene-butadiene-styrene copolymer with using epoxide. according to importance of subject, the sample of epoxidized styrene-block-butadiene block copolymers were synthesized using hydrogenperoxide in the presence of an in situ prepared do decyl tri methyl ammonium tetrakis (diperoxo tungstate) phosphate as the catalyst system in a water/dichloroethane biphasic system. 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1HNMR) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectra displayed that the epoxidation procedure led mainly to 1,4-epoxidized butadiene units. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is the most used technique to study the thermal properties of epoxy/block copolymer systems. It analysis showed that before curing, presence two glass transition temperature for phases polystyrene and polybutadiene. In addition, classical bitumen tests were performed on unmodified and modified polymers and The results showed that the modified polymer softened the bitumen.
