Bridges have become urban symbols due to their function of traffic facilitating, beauty and greatness. They are also really important because of their high impact on urban landscapes and identity making. Various use of bridges such as Khaju bridge, Siosepol and Tabiat bridge make them not just crossing places. Today, tourism is known for being high income industry with great impact on economy, culture and society. Tehran as the capital of Iran plays a huge role in this industry development. Due to the high potential for tourism in Tehran districts 5 and 22 and urban development planning, Tehran municipality has decided to construct a pedestrian bridge to connect Eram Amusement Park and Azadi stadium (ken valley phase three) which are separated by Shishe Mina Boulevard and ken river. Due to the importance of the two complexes and their different aspects, a multi-functional pedestrian bridge (named as Bridge-space) was designed. Applying the urbanization limitations and riverbed restrictions such as limitation in placing column in river privacy and minimum height of structure floor from the river based on river discharge, is the main challenge of this project. Due to the multiple uses of the bridge and its large spans both longitudinally and transversely, uniformity and harmony in design and avoiding to use different structural elements were intended as fundamental principles.
