Problem: Despite the benefits of living in cities, many factors contribute to stress and endanger the mental health of citizens. Research on health and urban life considers psychological disorders, especially depression, at the top level of modern urban diseases and public health. Studies in Iran have shown that women are 1.1 to 1.7 times more vulnerable to depression than men, and unfortunately in the metropolis of Tehran, despite the potential of the city, which has health in some of its spaces, the symptoms of depression in women are high.
Necessity: Today, citizens spend a lot of time dealing with urban bodies, and because women are half of the population and depression effects them. in addition to physical and psychological manifestations, may be passed on to future generations by changing biological structures through mothers. Identifying the components of architecture and landscape and identifying the current environmental contexts of Tehran as health-promoting environments using behavioral, cognitive and biological indicators to determine the health of any space and design in favor of urban mental health and provide a model of environmental components of landscape architecture. Reducing the symptoms of depression seems to be essential for the future design of Tehran.
Research Method: The present research method, in the first part of the analysis of existing documents to find the environmental components of landscape architecture, has an effect on mental health, especially depression, and with structural analysis (GLS) method and non-parametric KruskalWalis test, in the field of localization. The second part, the classification of the effectiveness of the components from the point of view of female users in the environments determined by GLS structural analysis method has been completed and finally in the laboratory section, a group in a 21-day effective period using VR environment has been studied and evaluated. Biological reactions are analyzed by ANOVA repetitivemeasurement method.
Objective: With the qualitative criteria of a healthy city and urban achievements in interdisciplinary fields, Tehran's gardens, which have the potential to reduce the symptoms of depression, can be redefined as spaces that improve treatment in the current environment of the city. By quantifying the impact of the components, identifying and maintaining the city's current health resources in the landscape, fertilizing the strengths of these places and creating health uses appropriate to the character of the gardens that have been added to the city today as a public space in Tehran, in addition to extravagance in public spaces. The city is putting pressure on the government to pay for medical expenses, and the city's integrity is being mobilized for the mental health of its citizens.
Results: In this study, the researcher's observation and intervention during a course of treatment can be considered positive, behavioral symptoms and their cognitive reactions are relatively positive, and all effective components have been effective in the categories.
