The development of new heterogeneous catalytic systems, due to minimize pollution in organic synthesis procedure, have become a major research field in recent year. In addition, the use of heterogeneously-catalyzed process have several positive aspect, including: simplification of the process, assistance to decreasing trend of the waste production, easy separation and recycling of the catalysts.
Here, by using chitosan, epichlorohydrin and trimesic acid through simple procedure, an efficient and biodegradable catalytic system, is presented. Chitosan as a bifunctional heterogeneous and green biopolymeric, supported trimesic acid for use in the acceptive and rapid synthesis of Pharmaceutical nucleus, polyhydroquinolines, in one-pot and singular step. PHQs were synthesized from the hantzsch reaction under reflux condition in high to quantitative yields, 77-96%, by this catalyst. Cs/ECH-Trimesic acid was characterized by energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and (FT-IR) analysis.
