Objective: In public health centers such as urban hospitals, services provided to patients and their companions play a key role in the audience's experience of therapeutic performance. Aspects that are relevant to this use today are complementary functions that, in addition to meeting therapeutic needs, create urban environmental factors for the audience. The purpose of this study is to analyze complementary activities that provide their relationship with the urban environment according to the needs of environmental health audiences. Methods: In this research, the principles and strategies extracted from the theoretical foundations and case studies appropriate to this use have been prioritized and categorized by a questionnaire. Findings: Based on the questionnaire, the findings show that complementary service spaces such as temporary residences as well as urban community spaces, interact with the medical environment, so that as only part of the findings, temporary residences are considered. 70% of the participants, as well as urban community spaces, were considered by more than 45% of the participants. Conclusion: Today, the dominant focus of medical centers and hospitals is on the physical treatment of patients. This has led to less attention being paid to the complementary treatment needs related to the urban environment in many treatment spaces. According to the emphasis of this research on the integration of urban functions complementary to treatment with hospital uses, the development of positive interactions between patients and their companions and treatment environments will take place.
