The supply of energy from clean and sustainable energy sources has become one of the most important global concerns and the world community has no choice but to turn to new and renewable energy sources. Because fossil fuels are scarce in nature and emit toxic gases, the world faces serious challenges in providing a clean and sustainable energy source for the masses. Solar energy is the best option that can meet the huge and continuous demand for energy. But just as solar energy is a rich source of clean energy, it does not guarantee the implementation of this technology, and there are various challenges, including social and economic issues. In this research, the factors affecting the development of technologies related to solar energy supply were identified and prioritized. In the first step, the factors and sub-factors influencing the problem were initially identified. Then, using the opinions of experts, the validity of these factors and sub-factors was confirmed and a kind of screening was performed. Finally, 4 categories of factors including existing strengths, threats, opportunities and weaknesses were selected as the main criteria and 16 corresponding sub-factors were identified and screened. Then, the correlation relationships between the factors and sub-factors affecting the problem were determined. For this purpose, a questionnaire of correlation relationships between factors and sub-factors affecting the problem was designed and provided to experts. Then these questionnaires were analyzed using fuzzy DEMATEL technique and the correlation relationships between factors and subfactors were determined. Then the weight of each of the factors and sub-factors affecting the problem was determined. For this purpose, a questionnaire of pairwise comparisons between factors and sub-factors affecting the problem was designed and provided to experts. Then, these questionnaires were analyzed using fuzzy ANP technique and finally the final ranking of factors and sub-factors affecting the problem was performed. The ranking of the key effective factors in the issue was that the five factors of high potential of solar energy in the country, lack of social awareness, tax incentives, cheap fossil fuels and lack of understanding by the authorities were recognized as the most important factors. Finally, based on the obtained numerical results, executive solutions were presented to assist managers and decision makers in the development of technologies related to solar energy supply.
